Position Summary
HHA seeks an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, and Finance & Accounting group (F&A) personnel/operations. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will provide financial stewardship, ensuring sustainable growth, financial risk management, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with extensive experience in real estate development, investment, and hospitality finance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Provide strategic financial leadership, supporting and advising the CEO, COO, and senior management in all business and financial matters.
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with HHA’s business goals and growth initiatives.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making across real estate, industrial, and hospitality investments.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making, including projections for business development and investment opportunities.
Capital Management
- Manage capital allocation, debt financing, and investment structures to optimize financial performance.
- Evaluate and execute financial due diligence for development, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.
Financial Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, risk mitigation strategies, and corporate governance standards.
- Identify financial and operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Oversee the company’s insurance policies and financial risk assessments to protect assets.
Accounting & Reporting
- Monitor key financial metrics to assess performance and suggest actions for improvement.
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
Operational Efficiency
- Enhance financial processes, controls, and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Drive operational improvements and cost-control initiatives to optimize profitability and ensure sustainable growth.
Stakeholder Relations
- Work closely with the CEO, COO, executive leadership, and development teams.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison with owners, lenders, and internal/external strategic partners.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, supervise, and develop the F&A group, fostering a respectful, collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluation for F&A staff to ensure professional growth and company success.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Turnaround Management
- Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully leading F&A department turnarounds, restructuring initiatives, and driving critical operational improvements.
- Expertise in F&A personnel restructuring, financial strategy realignment, cost optimization, process automation, and financial risk mitigation.
- Experience identifying inefficiencies, implementing robust internal controls, and fostering a culture of accountability to enhance financial performance.
- Strong background in managing departmental change, optimizing cash flow, and aligning financial operations with broader business objectives to support sustainable growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum of 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience in real estate investment, development, or hospitality.
- At least 5 years in a senior role (CFO, VP of Finance, or Director of Finance) in real estate or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of financial structures related to real estate investment, debt financing, and private equity.
- Experience managing complex financial operations in a multi-asset portfolio.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems and real estate accounting software.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated success in enhancing/managing an F&A department.
